Something New, Something Old is the haunting debut single
from Lara Stephen's second, forthcoming Album Up in the Air, produced by ARIA
award winning producer, Richard Pleasance (Augie March, Archie Roach, Paul Kelly)
and due out in March 2006 thru Vitamin Records.
Lara has been performing as a solo artist for over seven years throughout Australia and recently overseas for the Alnwick International Music Festival in England. Lara's Australian festival appearances include the Perth International Arts, Fairbridge, Surry Hills, Wintermoon, St Albans, Peats Ridge, Howl and Nannup Festivals.
In 2002, Lara was nominated for the Kiss My Wami Most Popular Local Original Folk Act and she was recently shortlisted from over 15,000 entrants as a finalist in the International Songwriters Competition (still to be judged).
She has also made television appearances and written music for theatre including the Perth season of Vagina Monologues and Artrage play What Happened Was.
Lara has shared the stage and supported acts such as Vika and
Linda Bull, Jon English, Ember Swift, Jigzag, Women in Docs, Anne Vriend (Canada),
Things of Stone and Wood, Mick Hart, Coda, Fruit, Jodi Martin and played at
venues from the Rosemount in Perth, to the Vanguard and Basement in Sydney and
the Troubadour and Goverment Hindmarsh in Brisbane and Adelaide.
